Bristol’s last working farm is under threat…

If you managed to see Countryfile aired on 16th Jan 2022 entitled ‘Bristol’s last farm’ you will know we have farmed land owned by a London based investment company who have sold the option to build 200 houses on our 13 acre hay meadow to Redrow. We have actively fought this for 8 years.

A home to nature.

Yew Tree Farm has just realised SNCI status -Site of Nature Conservation interest – we also have an insect in the meadow previously unknown to science that cannot now be studied by experts as we no longer have access. Our ethos of farming with nature has created such an amazing natural environment.

Despite being greenbelt and an SNCI Redrow are still promoting the farm. We were incredibly disappointed with Bristol City Council planning department who admitted incorrect actions led to a decision that has allowed the landowners the remove a large segment of ancient and protected hedgerow.

How you can help.

If you can help please can you email any or all of the following people as a show of support, we are urging Redrow to remove their option agreement and release the land so we have an opportunity to buy it and reunite the farm as it was prior to 1949.

If you want to help please send an email to any of the below expressing your support for Yew Tree Farm, a wildlife haven producing sustainable chemical free food for hundreds of years.
